A sustainable bean filling for our Koskela bean bags - Koskela has teamed up with Envee Beans - Australia’s first plant-based filling material.

After years of hunting for a sustainable alternative to polystyrene beans that meets both our environmental and functional standards, we are happy to announce a collaboration with Envee Beans. Envee Beans produce 80% fewer greenhouse gases than regular polystyrene beans during production.

Designed to be full circle, the beans can be returned to the earth at the end of their lifecycle. As they’re bio-based, the beans will compost into a valuable humus which can be used to grow new plants and crops.

Koskela bean bags have been a living room staple for many years, which is why we’re offering all Sydney based customers the opportunity to return their polystyrene beans to our warehouse and swap for a bean bag liner filled with Envee Beans! We’ve arranged to re-cycle all old polystyrene beans with an industrial partner to ensure a minimal amount of waste. Please get in touch for more information on organising a switch!
