In this painting Martha has depicted Walukuritji one of a series of clay pans to the south of Lake MacDonald all of which were significant for her father Shorty Lungkata Tjungurrayi. The matrix is representative of the tapestry of different types of vegetation across the landscape.
Papunya Tjupi Arts is an Aboriginal owned, community-based enterprise, presenting over 100 artists. We encourage the sharing of knowledge and skills to foster self-determination and cultural development. This is done through arts practise, community activities, meaningful employment and training opportunities. All proceeds are split between the artists and the funding of further community projects.
